What you will practise

We begin with selection: how to review footage and find the useful actions, glances and pauses. From there, learners build an assembly, test rhythm and shape a sequence for a defined audience.

Tutors demonstrate shortcuts and software habits only when they serve a storytelling decision. The focus remains on what the cut is doing.

Programme sequence

  1. Week 1–2Footage and story map

    Organise the material, identify a question and make an honest first assembly.

  2. Week 3–5Rhythm and point of view

    Test structure, performance, transitions and the place where a scene should end.

  3. Week 6–8Screening version

    Prepare a clean export, collect audience notes and decide which revisions genuinely matter.
